Changes to the FINAL office design: FINAL ADJUSTMENTS
I have decided to not use TEXTURE(2) as it stops the eye from surveying the surrounding environment. I have used TEXTURE(3) as the railings to stop my avatar from falling out of the office space. Also, I have used it in the roof area in the MAIN office cube and the LOUNGE cube. This is to allow sunlight to enter into spaces that I would enter and use on a daily basis.
My journals are magazines (either on the office desk or the coffee table). This is because I didn't want them to interrupt with the roots and grass texture.
The blog is on the TV screen.

TEXTURE(2): The view texture
As my journals indicate the desire to "preserve" the surrounding environment, I've decided to create a window where it seems as though you can walk through onto the grass and enjoy the blue sky, the birds and the existing plantations.
I used the Marque tool and then select inverse to remove any white areas in the image of the birds and then placed that layer onto the photo of a beautiful landscape.
However, I am still undecided on whether this texture will be used in my final office design. This is due to the fact that I want inhabitants to enjoy the outside view; though I am unsure whether they should enjoy the "artificial" view (the texture), or the actual view (the surrounding buildings and land).
Texture(1)
Hello!
I have included three different textures in my office design.
TEXTURE (1): The tree-like texture
This texture is created as a Targa file. The original image was found on google. Then I created an alpha channel so that the existing layers/colours would not be destroyed or disrupted by any editing. I then cut the alpha layer by using the Marque tool (in the shape of a tree) and then selecting inverse. Hence, my final texture outcome.
I have decided to make these in the form of trees because I didn't want something that was TOO obvious, and thus, I have decided to include an indication of nature in a subtle manner.

OFFICIAL new office design
OFFICIAL new office design.
This office design orignates from the influences of my three journals; archithese, greensource, preservation.
After a lengthy consideration in regards to my design, I decided to reflect the ideas of my journals, rather than to oppose them (as I did in the past). My three journals all have a common characteristic; which is designing self sustainable architecture while being capable of preserving the surrounding landscape. From this, I began to develop my office design.
I wanted to create an architectural form that would blend into the environment while integrating with my personal style; which is simplicity with a tone of complexity.
My office consists of a grass surface with root-like structures intertwining through the design to create an idea of plant growth. The roots act as water ducts for the building as they pump and absorb water. The grass surface acts as a continual texture from the existing ground. The idea that the roots grow from the existing land and the grass texture as an extension of the ground surface represents the idea of preserving the land. There are areas where fresh air can enter the building as well as allowing internal and external relations space.
Although the atmosphere is quite dark interior-wise, it provides a mysterious environment when you first step into the office, but as you walk further into the office, light begins to seep through (due to the large open area at the end of the office). Hence, the working area has a conflicting atmosphere to the start; a bright open space, creating a natural environment for those inside.
I hope you enjoy my office!!!
